HELLO FRIENDS ! We are the CENTRAL CABBARUS BIBLE TEACHING ASSOCIATION
We are a registered non-profit organization (501-c-3) whose sole purpose is to raise/manage the funds necessary to support the Bible classes conducted at CCHS. The support includes the Teacher's salary and benefits, as well as many necessary supplies & expenses. The Bible classes do not receive funding from any county, state, or federal educational agencies. CCBTA, therefore, raises all funds necessary to support and provide the Bible classes at CCHS, from various fundraising events held throughout the year, donations from individuals, businesses, civic & church organizations and some basic grant opportunities.
The Bible classes at CCHS are taught from an educational, cultural and historical perspective as we seek to broaden the education of the students through studying a book that has greatly influenced much of western civilization. It is not our purpose or intent to teach the Bible devotionally or with the intent of furthering religious practices.
We are comprised entirely of a volunteer staff--people who have been directly or indirectly affected by Bible classes at Central Cabarrus High School. Some of us are former students, while others are family of former students or just friends of the classes.
The Covid-19 situation Cabarrus County Schools remains rather tedious during the 2021/2022 school year, Amy Hicks is able to teach six classes LIVE this year, which supports over 175 students who have chosen a Bible class as an Elective. These classes have been offered at CCHS since 1982, continue to be in demand, and remain a proud and satisfying tradition in Cabarrus County, NC. It requires about $87,500 a year to provide these classes. Due to the COVID-19 Situation, some of our regular fundraising events have been postponed or cancelled until 2022. However, we are still making plans to continue with our Spring EVENING OF ENTERTAINMENT nights, ONLINE SILENT AUCTION and SPRING VIDALIA ONION SALE.
We are so glad you stopped by. Please check out our upcoming events page for more details.

Bible class meant the world to me in high school. Not only did I get to dig deeper into the stories I thought I knew, but I also got to learn under a woman I consider one of the most influential role models I've ever had. She made learning fun, and every day I was excited to go to class!
I think often of Bible Class. For the first time in my life, Bible was fun and engaging. I still remember her telling stories while dressed up as shepherds or kings (hopping up on desks and singing songs). I still remember the hand motions to some of the scripture we learned that year...and I've taught them to my kids. It's amazing that I remember more from her class than all the high school history classes combined. It was a worthwhile experience!
