We are the Central Cabarrus Bible Teaching Association (CCBTA), a registered nonprofit whose sole purpose is to raise and manage the funds necessary to support the Bible classes conducted at Central Cabarrus High School.
The CCBTA is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which means we are a public charity that receives its public support primarily from gifts, grants and contributions from a broad group of people and businesses. It also means that our sole purpose is to support the Bible classes at Central Cabarrus, and all of our staff and board of directors are volunteers.
These classes are taught from an educational, cultural and historical perspective as we seek to broaden the education of the students through studying a book that has greatly influenced much of western civilization. It is not our purpose or intent to teach the Bible devotionally or with the intent of furthering religious practices.
History
Central Cabarrus Bible Teaching Association was established in 1983. The classes have been offered consistently for over 40 years as a history and social studies elective. The course teaches from an academic perspective the historical, cultural, archeological, and literary effects of the Bible.
Finances
The current annual budget for 2025-2026 is $97,000. These funds go to pay the teacher’s salary and benefits, as well as many necessary classroom supplies and expenses.
Income
No funding for the Bible classes comes from the county, state or federal educational agencies at this time.
